A thief of domains is sentenced to 5 years in prison

Daniel goncalves, a thief of domains of 26 years It has been sentenced to five years in prison in New Jersey. A few weeks ago was offered the news of the first case of conviction because of several robberies of domains. Also beat the offender fined thousands of dollars.

Ladrón de dominios

It all started in August 2009 when the thief of domains decided to become the P2P.com domain and some other company Marc ostrofsky. The affected decided to carry out a research to arrive at the culprit since they had adequate resources. Also Albert Angel, one of the heads of Marc ostrofsky, had been previously lawyer and Prosecutor of the Department of Justice of the United States.

These people began to gather data to find out who was the criminal who had stolen them. However, justice not offered any help to catch the criminal. In an interview Albert was quite outraged showed saying that people that they steal the Hubcaps from cars have more resources than those affected by thefts of domains. Despite this, Albert continued researching so that his case would serve as a example for all those affected by cyber theft.

Meanwhile, the thief who had stolen domains decided to get rid of them.  So he came to ebay in search of some interested buyer. There he managed to sell the domain P2P.com for the sum of $111,000. At this time the criminal was believed that he was safe from the police, however, a few days later he was tried and condemned to be the first domain thief who's going to jail in a case of theft of domains.

As you can see, little by little the justice will adapt to new cyber crimes and may one day be just of convicts as those that occur in the streets. Meanwhile we can only take example Albert and demand that our rights on the Internet defend.
